West Village Townhouse 2

Signature was hired along with architect Studio Brandon Sanchez to restore & convert this W 12th St townhouse to a single family home. Originally built in 1859, the 22-ft wide property had been converted to a multi-family residence and required significant repairs & renovation. The project included major structural reinforcements and enlarged openings at the rear of the house, all new mechanical systems, windows, and doors, and new finishes throughout. A landmarked property, repairs and upgrades to exterior finishes were completed in accordance with historical details.

The interior of the house was thoughtfully reorganized across its five levels, with a living room and kitchen at the Parlor level, family rooms and office at the Garden level, laundry, guest room, and storage rooms in the cellar, and additional bedrooms at the third floor. The full-floor Primary suite offers a bedroom with a wood-burning fireplace, two walk-in closets, and a soaking tub and oversized steam shower in the primary bath. Interior finishes include reclaimed wood flooring, handmade plaster moldings & custom wood trim, a curved wood stair, custom millwork, and detailed stone & tile work. Full-height windowed steel doors at the Parlor and Garden levels maximize light and provide access to the newly created garden, and a steel deck at the Parlor level provides additional entertaining space at this West Village gem.
